Study and visit
A standard visit refusal usually has no appeal. We read the letter and say whether to reapply, complain, or challenge the decision.
This page is general information about UK immigration routes. It is not advice on your case. Rules and fees change. Confirm the current position before you pay a Home Office fee.
What people call an appeal is usually one of four different things: a fresh application, a complaint, a pre-action protocol letter, or judicial review. They are not substitutes for each other.
Read the personalised sentences in the refusal. The standard paragraphs appear in almost every letter. Only the sentences about your facts tell you what failed.
| Service | AHM professional fee | UKVI application fee |
|---|---|---|
| Visa Refusal Re-application | £600–£1,000 | Applicable fee |
| Administrative Review | £600 | £80 |
| Pre-Action Protocol (PAP) | From £500 / £1,000 | — |
| Judicial Review | From £2,500 | Court fees separate |
The AHM professional fee is confirmed in writing before we start and can be higher if the case is complex. We strongly advise a 30-minute initial consultation (£70) first. The UKVI application fee is paid to the UK Government and is not included in our fee. The Immigration Health Surcharge, priority services, biometrics, translations, and English or TB tests are also separate. Confirm the current government fee on GOV.UK before you apply. See the full fee schedule.
