UK visa fees

The visa application fee is only part of the bill when the stay is longer than six months. This guide separates government charges from our professional fees.

This page is general information about UK immigration routes. It is not advice on your case. Rules and fees change. Confirm the current position before you pay a Home Office fee.

Two bills, not one

Most applicants who will stay for more than six months pay a visa application fee and the immigration health surcharge at the same time. Visit visas do not attract the surcharge. Partner, student, and work visas usually do.

Figures below are the ones discussed against the Home Office table of 8 April 2026. They are a guide so you can budget. They are not a quote. Use the official fee calculator on the day you pay.

  • A worked spouse example from that table was an application fee of £2,064 plus a health surcharge of £3,105.
  • Indefinite leave was shown at £3,226, with no health surcharge.
  • A standard visit was shown at £135, with no health surcharge.
  • Priority services, biometrics, translations, tests, and our legal fee are extra.

What is rarely refunded

Once an application has been processed, the visa fee is often kept even if the decision is a refusal. The health surcharge is treated differently and is often refunded after a refusal. Do not rely on this page for your case. Read the refund wording on GOV.UK before you pay.

Our fee is separate

AHM Consultants confirms its professional fee in writing before work starts, using the published fee schedule. That fee does not include money paid to UKVI.

Confirm the figure or rule on GOV.UK before you pay. Our professional fee, where you instruct us, is separate. See our fee schedule.
