The refusal letter decides your options. We read it and tell you whether to appeal, reapply, or use a different challenge.
This page is general information about UK immigration routes. It is not advice on your case. Rules and fees change. Confirm the current position before you pay a Home Office fee.
After a spouse visa refusal the usual choices are an appeal or a fresh application. Administrative review is only available if the letter gives that right, which is less common on family routes. Judicial review is for cases with no appeal, or where the appeal has been certified so it cannot be brought in the UK.
Deadlines are often 14 calendar days in the UK and 28 calendar days overseas. Weekends and bank holidays count. The last paragraphs of your letter control the real deadline.
| Service | AHM professional fee | UKVI application fee |
|---|---|---|
| Visa Refusal Re-application | £600–£1,000 | Applicable fee |
| Administrative Review | £600 | £80 |
| Pre-Action Protocol (PAP) | From £500 / £1,000 | — |
| Judicial Review | From £2,500 | Court fees separate |
The AHM professional fee is confirmed in writing before we start and can be higher if the case is complex. We strongly advise a 30-minute initial consultation (£70) first. The UKVI application fee is paid to the UK Government and is not included in our fee. The Immigration Health Surcharge, priority services, biometrics, translations, and English or TB tests are also separate. Confirm the current government fee on GOV.UK before you apply. See the full fee schedule.
